Washington, D.C., Aug. 15, 2022 - FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the appointment of Carl Meacham as a Managing Director in its Strategic Communications segment to assist clients on cross-border issues related to national security, trade and commercial diplomacy with a focus on Latin America.

Mr. Meacham is based in Washington, D.C., and has more than 25 years of experience serving as an advisor, analyst and advocate on a broad range of government affairs and advocacy issues. He has held senior positions focusing on Latin America-related issues in the private sector, including a U.S.-based pharmaceutical trade association, a global technology company, and an American think tank, and in government, including in both the Clinton administration and on Capitol Hill.

"Carl's entrenched expertise and extensive experience on commercial diplomacy, government relations and regulatory advocacy focusing on Latin America will further bolster our ability to serve clients across borders and boardrooms in the Southern Hemisphere," said Ana Heeren, a Senior Managing Director and Head of Latin America for the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting. "I look forward to working closely with Carl and our entire team to continue to deliver cross-border support for clients facing an increasingly volatile regulatory environment in Latin America and globally."

Cory Fritz, a Managing Director and leader of the national security and sanctions offering within FTI Consulting's Strategic Communications segment, added, "We're excited to welcome Carl to our growing trade and national security service team. His unique experience and deep issue expertise will provide immediate value to clients across FTI Consulting's network who seek to manage reputational threats, evaluate geopolitical risk, and strengthen positioning on issues involving trade, sanctions, export controls and investment screening."

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Meacham headed PhRMA's commercial diplomacy and advocacy efforts for Latin America, Canada and Europe. Previously, he led Uber Technologies' government relations efforts in the "Southern Cone" of South America (Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay) and helped the company advance its business objectives by influencing regulatory environments. Earlier in his career, Mr. Meacham was director of the Americas Program at the Center for Strategic & International Studies. As a registered independent, he worked in a bipartisan manner on both Republican and Democratic staffs in the Senate, including serving for over a decade in the most senior Republican Senate staff position for the Latin America region on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and working in staff positions for Senator Majority Leaders Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid. Mr. Meacham also served as special assistant to the deputy secretary at the U.S. Department of Commerce during the Clinton administration. He began his career as a foreign service officer in the U.S. Department of the State and in the U.S. Embassy in Madrid.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Meacham said, "I am excited to join the FTI Consulting team. This is a particularly challenging moment for the Americas, and FTI Consulting is well positioned to assist multinational companies operating within the region on developing risk mitigation and reputational enhancement strategies and navigating challenging policy, regulatory and business environments."

Mr. Meacham's appointment is the latest move building on FTI Consulting's cross-border support for clients. The Strategic Communications segment recently also launched its Houston Hub led by Pablo Zárate, a Senior Managing Director and the firm's Mexico lead for Strategic Communications. The launch is part of a strategic expansion for FTI Consulting's Latin America practice and a continued focus on supporting highly regulated industry sectors with high-stakes issues across the Americas.
