FTI Consulting : Capitol Hill Veteran John Steitz Joins FTI Consulting as Managing Director

Washington, D.C., Oct. 11, 2021 - FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced John Steitz has been named a Managing Director within its Strategic Communications segment. Mr. Steitz will advise clients as they navigate today's increasingly complex regulatory and political landscape to achieve successful corporate and legislative outcomes. He will be based in Washington, D.C., and report to Bryan Zumwalt, a Senior Managing Director and Head of Government Affairs.

Mr. Steitz brings more than a decade of experience on Capitol Hill, most recently serving as the Deputy Chief of Staff to Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.). Mr. Steitz oversaw all aspects of the senator's policy operations, serving as the top advisor for executive branch negotiations and legislative and appropriations priorities, including the senator's responsibilities as Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government, as well as Ranking Member on the Energy and Water Subcommittee. Mr. Steitz also served as strategic advisor and policy lead for all banking, defense and foreign relations issues.

Prior to his work as Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Steitz served in various roles for Sen. Kennedy, including as his Legislative Director, Senior Legislative Assistant and Banking Legislative Assistant during Sen. Kennedy's time on the Senate Banking Committee. As Legislative Director, Mr. Steitz worked to develop a bipartisan legislative program that resulted in the passage of eight public laws and Sen. Kennedy's inclusion in the top 10 list of most effective Senate Republicans by the Center for Effective Lawmaking.

Mr. Steitz holds a B.A. in Political Science and Public Policy and a minor in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
