NEW YORK (AP) _ G-III Apparel Group Ltd. (GIII) on Wednesday reported a fiscal second-quarter loss of $15 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The New York-based company said it had a loss of 31 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 76 cents per share.

The clothing and accessories maker posted revenue of $297.2 million in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $340.4 million.

G-III Apparel shares have dropped 64% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 49% in the last 12 months.
