NEW YORK (AP) _ G-III Apparel Group Ltd. (GIII) on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $19.2 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The New York-based company said it had net income of 39 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 10 cents per share.

The clothing and accessories maker posted revenue of $483.1 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $462.3 million.

For the current quarter ending in November, G-III Apparel said it expects revenue in the range of $1 billion.

The company expects full-year earnings to be $3.10 to $3.20 per share, with revenue expected to be $2.7 billion.

G-III Apparel shares have climbed 37% since the beginning of the year. The stock has nearly tripled in the last 12 months.
