GameStop CEO George Sherman is leaving his role as of July 31 and is the third executive to leave the retailer in the last month.

The news comes on the heels of Jim Bell, CFO, and Frank Hamlin, chief customer officer, also leaving the leadership ranks, according to a Reuters report.

It also marks the latest churn for the retailer following a stock frenzy earlier this year and comes as the company is striving to compete against big players, including Sony, Walmart and Microsoft.
