METALLIANCE announces an order for 12 Multi-

Service Vehicles for the construction of Sydney Metro

West in Australia

The delivery of the vehicles will start at the end of 2022

METALLIANCE (EURONEXT ACCESS FR0010492181), a subsidiary of the GAUSSIN Group specialising in the design and manufacture of industrial equipment and mobile machinery, announces an order for 12 rubber-tiredMulti-Service Vehicles (MSV) from the joint venture between Acciona Construction Australia Pty Ltd and Ferrovial Construction (Australia) Pty Ltd (AFJV). These vehicles are destined for the construction of the Sydney Metro West - Central Tunnelling Package in Australia. They will be delivered from the end of 2022.

A technology with multiple advantages

The AFJV, who is contracted to deliver the Central Tunnelling Package - from The Bays to Sydney Olympic Park - has entrusted METALLIANCE with the supply of 12 multi-service vehicles, known for their ability to adapt to the needs of the project. These MSVs are the Swiss Army knives of mobile construction logistics vehicles. They will be used to transport the more than 70,000 concrete segments that will line the twin 11-kilometre tunnels, along with moving construction personnel and the other equipment throughout the sites.

A METALLIANCE Multi-Service Vehicle (MSV)

A long-standing trust between METALLIANCE and its Australian partners

This order is part of a process of renewed trust between METALLIANCE and its partners in Australia. To date, more than 40 METALLIANCE vehicles have been supplied for the first two stages of the construction of Sydney Metro. Production was already ramping up in 2017 as 25 vehicles were supplied by METALLIANCE that year, up from 15 vehicles in 2013.

More specifically, for the Northwest Rail Link (renamed Sydney Metro Northwest) project, METALLIANCE delivered 9 TSP50, 2 VMS25 and 4 Menrider 20C. And for the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project linking the north and southwest of the city via the Sydney business district, METALLIANCE delivered 11 TSP50, 6 VMS30, 5 Menrider 20C and 3 Maintenance VMS.

A structuring project for the Australian metropolis

The project in which METALLIANCE is involved is of state significance, as it is part of the new metro network servicing the economic capital of Australia. The first entirely automated Sydney Metro line opened in 2019 and has 13 stations over 36 kilometres of twin tracks, mainly underground. Work is underway to extend the network by 2024 with the planned completion of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest project, which when completed will mean Sydney has 66 kilometres of metro rail with 31 stations. By 2030, another two lines will have also been completed, servicing Western Sydney and the new Western Sydney Airport.

Sydney, Australia's largest city, is the first and currently the only city in the country to have a fully automated rapid transit system.

"Our company is delighted to be involved in such a large-scale project in Australia, which will improve service to the country's economic capital. Known for having invented the train on pneumatic wheels, and present today on very large sites throughout the world, METALLIANCE is proud of the range of its technologies as well as the know-how of its teams. This capacity to respond with flexibility and creativity to the needs of its customers allows it to intervene today on this demanding project, the usefulness of which is recognized locally", said Jean-ClaudeCOTHENET, Chairman and Managing Director of METALLIANCE.
