GAZ vehicles successfully crossed the finish line of the Russia's most important Silk Way rally marathon. A total of 50 crews competed in the race.

In 11 days Russia's greatest rally racers covered almost 4,500 km of a tough track including sun-dried country roads, sands and dunes.

The track legs along the Caspian Sea in the south of the country turned out to be the most complicated. Rock-hard unpaved roads, full of stones, potholes and ditches, were unforgiving to piloting errors. Engines ran in extreme mode because of the exhausting heat of +38°C throughout the race.

One GAZelle NEXT crew received the Silk Way silver medal in the T1 nomination, and the other GAZelle crew received the bronze medal. Sadko NEXT off-roader crews left behind many more powerful competitors and took the fourth and the fifth place in the truck race.

Sport Department Manager, GAZ United Engineering Center:

- All GAZ Raid Sport vehicles have successfully crossed the finish line. Potential customers are looking at our vehicles at the rally because all GAZ sport vehicles are built of serial components and assemblies. Our trucks show high durability at the rally track and an excellent performance in tough real-life operating conditions.
