Jan 17 (Reuters) - Eastbound gas flows on the Yamal-Europe pipeline to Poland from Germany and flows of Russian gas to Europe via Ukraine fell on Tuesday morning, data from pipeline operators showed.

Exit flows at the Mallnow metering point on the German border stood at 849,559 kilowatt hours (kWh) per hour between 0700 CET and 0800 CET, down from around 1,729,000 kWh/h in most of the previous day.

Nominations, or requests, for Russian gas into Slovakia from Ukraine via the Velke Kapusany border point fell to 27.1 million cubic metres (mcm), from 29.8 mcm the previous day, Ukrainian transmission system data showed.

Kremlin-controlled energy giant Gazprom will ship 32.6 mcm of gas to Europe via Ukraine on Tuesday, the company said in its daily update, down almost 8% from volumes in the previous several days.

The company has shipped gas via Ukraine at between 35.4 mcm and 35.5 mcm for the past 10 days, having exported more than 40 mcm per day at the end of last year and the first three days of 2023.

Gas flows via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, which crosses the Baltic Sea to Germany from Russia, remained at zero.

The pipeline was shut on Aug. 31 last year for what was supposed to be three days of maintenance but has not reopened, with Moscow blaming the situation on Western sanctions and technical issues.

The pipeline has since been damaged by suspected sabotage. (Reporting by Ananya Bajpai and Ashitha Shivaprasad in Bengaluru and Bozorgmehr Sharafedin in London; Editing by Jacqueline Wong)
