On December 2014, at Cat Bi Plaza - Hai Phong City, Gemadept Corporation solemnly held the Partner Appreciation Party of Nam Hai Port and Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port with the presence of state officers, media and more than 300 customers and partners.

Being one of the country's leading port and logistics operators, with over 20 years of experience in those fields, Gemadept Corporation has been pursuing its strategy to develop sea ports and logistics network along the national coastline, in big cities, major industrial zones and covering regional countries.

With the steady strategy, Gemadept Corporation constructed and put Nam Hai Port into operation in early 2009 - amidst the world economic crisis. Up to now, after six years of operation, Nam Hai Port has achieved remarkable triumphs with the maximum throughputs year after year.

On further confirming the leading position of Gemadept in the area with dynamic economic development of Northern Vietnam and capturing the constantly increasing import-export volume of the market, Gemadept decided to establish a joint venture on investment and development of Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port, which is triple the scale of Nam Hai Port, in order to better meet the needs of customers and partners.

Officially being put into operation in early 2014, Nam Hai Dinh Vu port has constantly received vessels of leading carriers calling the port such as Yang Ming (January 1st, 2014), CMA-CGM (March 18th, 2014), KMTC and CKL (June 6th, 2014), and especially, on July 8th, 2014, MSC has chosen Nam Hai Dinh Vu port as one destination for its vessel of 28,350 DWT (2,045 TEUs). It was the biggest size vessel ever called Haiphong area.

Nam Dinh Vu Hai has the berth length of 450m with the draft of 11.5m and the turning basin of 250m. With advantages in terms of location as well as modern equipment, in the first year of operation, the port has received 290 vessel calls with the total throughput of approximately 300,000TEUs, equivalent to 60% of the design capacity of the Port. The Port's handling capacity is among the leading ones of Hai Phong port cluster.

Remarkably, Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port has made profit only few months after being put into operation. In 2014, Gemadept plans to receive the revenue of VND 300 billion from Nam Hai Dinh Vu port, while the Port's profit is expected to exceed 20% of the proposed plan for the year.

In 2015, Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port plans to invest 1 Rubber tyred gantry crane and 1 more Quayside crane as well as to improve infrastructure, warehouses, CY and depots, etc. in order to provide customers and partners with outstanding service quality.
