General Motors Co. announced that Former chairman and CEO of Visa Inc., Alfred F. Kelly, Jr., has joined General Motors Co.'s board of directors. Kelly, 66, was Visa's CEO in 2016 to 2023 and elected chairman of the board in 2019.

He became the executive chair in 2023 and is credited with leading Visa through major tech change. He retired from the board in February 2024. With Kelly's addition, GM has 13 directors on its board with experience in manufacturing, information technology, digital commerce, defense, transportation and cybersecurity.

Six of the directors are women and 12 are independent.
