ANNOUNCEMENT IN RESPECT OF SUMMONSES

The announcement is made by Geotech Holdings Ltd. (the "Company") pursuant to Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong) concerning disclosure of inside information and Rule 13.09(2)(a) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

Reference is made to note 17 to the condensed consolidated interim financial statements in the interim results announcement published by the Company on 25 August 2020, whereby it was announced that a fatal accident has occurred in March 2020 (the "Accident") at a slope maintenance work in Marigold Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong (the "Work"). Geotech Engineering Limited ("Geotech Engineering"), an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, was the main contractor of the Work.

On 18 and 21 September 2020, as a result of the Accident, Geotech Engineering received a total of twelve summonses issued from the Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts (the "Court") by the Labour Department (as the plaintiff) against Geotech Engineering (as the defendant), on various offences under the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations (Chapter 59I of the Laws of Hong Kong) and the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (Chapter 59 of the Laws of Hong Kong). Based on the summonses, Geotech Engineering is required to appear before the Court on 19 October 2020 to answer the charges of failures to (i) safeguard the deceased who was working at a height in the construction site against the hazardous conditions where there was an unprotected edge on the top of retaining wall and another unprotected edge along concrete part of slope; (ii) ensure that suitable and adequate safe access to and egress from a place of work at concrete part of slope on the site was provided and properly maintained; (iii) take suitable and adequate steps to ensure that no person gained access to the place at concrete part of the slope on the site where hazardous conditions were present; and (iv) provide such information, instruction, training and supervision as was necessary to ensure the health and safety at work of the deceased who was employed by Geotech Engineering's subcontractor.

Geotech Engineering is in the course of seeking legal advice in respect of the above matter.

Further disclosures on the material developments of the cases will be announced as and when appropriate.
