UME Co., Ltd. announced that it will receive ¥44,100,000 in a round of equity funding from new investor Giga Prize Co.,Ltd. (NSE:3830) on November 27, 2017. Pursuant to the transaction, the investor will acquire a stake of 4.79% in the company. The company will enter into a contract with the investor in early December 2017. The payment date of the transaction is mid December 2017. The transaction has been approved by the board of directors of the investor.
GIGA PRIZE CO., LTD. is primarily engaged in Internet-related services. The Company operates in two segments. The HomeIT segment provides Internet service provider (ISP) and security system service for condominium residents, and network services such as managed service provider (MSP) service and hosting service for corporations. The Real Estate segment, along with subsidiaries, promotes and develops franchise stores in the ion housing business and engages in the leasing and brokerage of real estate through the franchise stores.
