Servers in some sites of GlobalWafers' Japanese subsidiary has recently been
shut down due to a cyber attack. The company confirmed today (3/3) that it
has inspected the system and terminal equipments of the production line and
will reopen after examination. It has no material impact on the overall
operation.

On 2022/2/28, the Japanese subsidiary detected the servers in some sites were
attacked by viruses, the company has implemented a timely countermeasure to
contain and carried out a thorough network examination. Due to automatic
information backup system, the system can be recovered smoothly without any
worries. The servers are resuming to normal operation gradually and none of
confidential information is being affected. Also, the affected machines are
gradually resuming production and has no material impact on the company's
operations. GlobalWafers will continue to strengthen the group information
system infrastructure, upgrade cyber security level to safeguard the
company's data.
