SAN MATEO, Calif. (AP) _ GoPro Inc. (GPRO) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $3.3 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the San Mateo, California-based company said it had profit of 2 cents. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs and stock option expense, came to 20 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 6 cents per share.

The action video camera maker posted revenue of $280.5 million in the period.

GoPro shares have climbed 53% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $6.62, a rise of 48% in the last 12 months.
