PRESS RELEASE

The services to be provided in the area of electronic medical records involve organic, structured management of the data referring to the clinical history of patients in inpatient or outpatient care, used to provide support for clinical (diagnostic-therapeutic) and care processes, while favouring continuity between different episodes of patient care (e.g., ordinary hospitalisation, day hospital, day service and outpatient care). The Gpi Group already provides its electronic medical record solutions in many Italian Regions, as well as in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Malta.

The services to be provided in the area of telemedicine will be geared towards developing the health ecosystem to improve access to treatment, management of diagnoses, and remote medical care and consultation.

Telemedicine is part of Gpi's broader vision focusing on virtual care by looking at the overall sustainability of healthcare systems and skilfully combining multiple solutions, services, technologies and new organisational models. The solutions developed by Gpi permit telemedicine and care management services to be provided in a way that ensures continuity of care and treatment, while also allowing the population to be divided by risk level, enabling patients to be included on the basis of these clusters. In 2020 Gpi assisted more than 100,000 patients throughout Italy with its virtual care solutions.

Substantial resources to finance the Italian National Health System

Through the NRRP (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) and complementary fund, the Italian government is allocating EUR 18.5 billion to "Mission 6: Health" with the aim of strengthening prevention and local healthcare services, modernising and digitalising the healthcare system and ensuring equity in access to care.
