• The new project foresees an investment of more than 35 million euros and the mobilization of more than 300 jobs
  • The company has 150 solar MWs planned in the Valencian Community

Greenalia advances in its renewable energy pipeline in the Iberian Peninsula and submits to public exhibition a new solar plant, in this case in the Valencian Community, specifically in Salinas, Alicante.

As detailed in the published documentation, Casa Mosén solar plant foresees the implementation of a total of 86,242 panels and a capacity of 50 MWp. For its start-up, the company foresees an investment of more than 35 million euros and the mobilization of over 300 jobs.

Once in operation, the facility will have a 106,970 MWh production capacity, a figure that is equivalent to the energy consumption, from renewable sources, of 21,500 families. Also, its implementation will benefit the environment by avoiding 15,500 tons of CO2 atmospheric emissions.

The documentation is complemented by the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) presented by Greenalia in which different measures are collected aimed at the integration of this installation into the landscape environment. At the same time, it also includes the positive impact it will generate in the livestock sector, since it will be able to take advantage of the surplus of vegetation in the environment of the infrastructures favoring the compatibility of the project.

High capacity areas

This installation is part of the solar portfolio that Greenalia is advancing through the permitting process. In total, it holds 660 MW in solar, all of them in projects located in top resource areas in the Iberian Peninsula (150 MW in the Valencian Community and 510 MW Andalusia), classified as Zone V, with an annual capacity factor of 22%-25% (higher than 2,000 annual hours of production), much higher than the annual average of 18.8% (1645 equivalent hours, according to the 2018 Electric System Operation Report, published by REE).
