Since we were founded, over 70 years ago, it is our priority to work every day to build a sustainable, highly productive and deeply humane company. Therefore, through initiatives such as the Bimbo Global Energy Race, we are contributing with our grain of flour and encouraging thousands of people to run for a cause, helping vulnerable sectors of society, because for every kilometer a person runs, the Company will donate two slices of bread to food banks

For a third consecutive year, the world´s largest baking company will provide Food Banks with two slices of bread for every kilometer ran by over 110 thousand participants of the race with a cause, Bimbo Global Energy Race 2018.
Grupo Bimbo is a founding member of IDB´s #SinDesperdicios platform, announced today, which is aimed at tackling food loss and waste in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Mexico City, October 16th, 2018. On World Food Day, Grupo Bimbo prompts initiatives to help those who are most vulnerable and promotes actions that contribute to reducing the undernourishment gap.
As part of its global level programs, for the third consecutive year, the world´s largest baking company is donating 1.4 million slices of bread to Food Banks, as a result of the kilometers ran by all Bimbo Global Energy Race participants, which in its 2018 edition, gathered over 110 thousand runners in 23 nations.
On the other hand, in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Grupo Bimbo announces its participation as one of the founding members of the #SinDesperdicios (#NoWaste) platform, an initiative aimed at tackling food loss and waste in Latin America and the Caribbean.
#SinDesperdicios brings together members from the public and private sectors, who will pursue supporting initiatives under four areas of work: innovating projects; public policies national and local wise; generation of knowledge and responsible consumption habits.
