Grupo Clarín S.A. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2021. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was ARS 9,518.02 million compared to ARS 8,932.25 million a year ago. Net income was ARS 319.3 million compared to net loss of ARS 702.84 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was ARS 2.99 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of ARS 6.58 a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was ARS 26,478.09 million compared to ARS 25,728.87 million a year ago. Net income was ARS 1,318.59 million compared to net loss of ARS 1,080.53 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was ARS 12.35 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of ARS 10.12 a year ago.
Grupo Clarin SA is an Argentina-based company principally engaged in the provision of television (TV) cable services. The Companyâs activities are structured in four business segments: Cable TV and Internet Access, which operates a cable TV network in Latin America and provides broadband Internet services; Printing and Publishing, which focuses on the production and distribution of national and regional newspapers, as well as magazines, supplements, books, collectible products and other periodical publications; Broadcasting and Programming, which includes a variety of TV channels, radio stations and entities active in the content production and provision of advertising services, as well as Digital Content and Others, which creates, hosts and manages a variety of Websites, on-line portals and digital platforms for mobile phones, among others.
