FCC Construccion has won the contract for the assembly of freight tracks for the Valladolid Railway Complex. The facilities will be suitable for loading and unloading trains of up to 750 meters in length, housing the logistics operations currently carried out at the La Esperanza and Argales facilities.

The action includes the assembly of the conventional gauge track of the section between the San Cristobal tunnel and the end of the Valladolid East Bypass, where it connects with the Madrid-Hendaya line.

The project has a budget of 19.5 million euros and will connect the Valladolid Railway Complex and the connection with the city's Arterial Railway Network (RAF). Thanks to this investment, the New Valladolid Railway Complex will house the logistics operations currently carried out at the La Esperanza and Argales facilities. In the same way, it will make it possible to redirect and secure freight traffic between the Renault Spain factory and the north link with the Madrid-Hendaya line. The action is part of the global project for the execution of the Valladolid East Railway Variant, currently under development by FCC Construccion.

The distribution of freight tracks will consist of: seven ballast tracks over 750 m long inside the complex, for the reception and dispatch of trains. Two mango tracks (for section and parking) on ballast, 300 and 100 m long. Three lanes to supply diesel to the locomotives. Tracks for loading and unloading containers of 750 m, with two adjacent tracks on ballast of 750 m in length. The action also contemplates the assembly of conventional gauge track (1,668 mm) of the section between the San Cristobal tunnel and the end of the Eastern Bypass railway, where it connects with the Madrid-Hendaya line.
