Grupo México, S.A.B. de C.V. reported consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2018. For the quarter, the company's net sales were USD 2,594,524,000 compared to USD 2,535,321,000 a year ago. Operating income was USD 845,705,000 compared to USD 912,015,000 a year ago. Net earnings were USD 362,138,000 compared to USD 553,979,000 a year ago.
For the nine months, the company's net sales were USD 7,928,219,000 compared to USD 7,049,168,000 a year ago. Operating income was USD 2,791,667,000 compared to USD 2,410,054,000 a year ago. Net earnings were USD 1,383,702,000 compared to USD 1,540,411,000 a year ago.
For the quarter, the company's copper production was 254,219 MT against 256,444 MT a year ago. Molybdenum production was 5,758 MT against 5,389 MT a year ago. Zinc production was 17,469 MT against 18,377 MT a year ago. Silver production was 3,414 Koz against 3,328 Koz a year ago. Gold production was 12,296 Oz against 13,280 Oz a year ago. Sulfuric Acid production was 675,098 MT against 660,910 MT a year ago.
For the nine months, the company's copper production was 733,895 MT against 752,222 MT a year ago. Molybdenum production was 16,329 MT against 16,068 MT a year ago. Zinc production was 53,188 MT against 54,789 MT a year ago. Silver production was 9,964 Koz against 10,612 Koz a year ago. Gold production was 36,323 Oz against 38,867 Oz a year ago. Sulfuric Acid production was 2,008,956 MT against 2,016,233 MT a year ago.
Compared to its forecasts for 2018, the company expects 2019 to show a 12% increase in copper production, +38% in zinc, +30% in silver, and +21% in molybdenum.
