GUADALAJARA, Mexico (AP) _ Grupo Simec SAB de CV (SIM) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $34.9 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Guadalajara, Mexico-based company said it had net income of 21 cents.

The steel producer posted revenue of $497.8 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported net income of $196 million, or $1.18 per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $1.69 billion.

Grupo Simec shares have declined 2% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 22% in the last 12 months.
