KC Water, which serves 170,000 residential and business utility customers in Kansas City, Missouri, will install three self-serve payment kiosks provided by CityBase, a unit of GTY Technology Holdings Inc., a provider of SaaS/Cloud solutions for the public sector, according to a press release.

The new kiosks will be located at the two locations where KC Water takes in-person payments, and will enable customers to make payments using cash, check or card. One indoor kiosk will be located in the payment center at the treasurer's office in City Hall, 414 East 12th Street. One indoor and one 24/7-accessible outdoor kiosk will be located at the KC Water customer service and payment center at 4800 East 63rd Street.

At each kiosk pay station, customers will have options to review their balance using an account number, make a full or partial payment and receive a printed, texted or emailed receipt immediately.
Customers paying by cash or check will not incur any fees.

Kiosk usage data, the average kiosk transaction takes under a minute to complete, which helps eliminate lines and reduce foot traffic in payment centers for simple bill pay.

"We wanted to provide a new payment option that would make it more convenient for customers to pay in person without facing unnecessary fees and delays from a third party, external outlet," John Clarkson, customer service officer at KC Water, said in the press release.
