REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (AP) _ Guardant Health Inc. (GH) on Thursday reported a loss of $77.7 million in its third quarter.

The Redwood City, California-based company said it had a loss of 78 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 34 cents per share.

The provider of oncology testing services posted revenue of $74.6 million in the period, beating Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $66.5 million.

Guardant Health shares have increased 50% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $117.46, a climb of 73% in the last 12 months.
