SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Halozyme Therapeutics Inc. (HALO) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter net income of $66.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the San Diego-based company said it had net income of 46 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 42 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 40 cents per share.

The biopharmaceutical company posted revenue of $102 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $97.1 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $402.7 million, or $2.74 per share. Revenue was reported as $443.3 million.

Halozyme Therapeutics expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.05 to $2.20 per share, with revenue in the range of $530 million to $560 million.
