(Hong Kong, October 31, 2015) Halloween does not have to be just about dressing up in ghoulish costumes. Tapping children's natural enthusiasm for this fiendishly fun festival can also open up invaluable opportunities for learning. To do precisely this, the Hang Lung As One volunteer team organized a Halloween Story-telling Party for a group of 20 youngsters aged between four and seven from low-income families. The party was a great opportunity for them to have a truly extraordinary Halloween experience.

Under the guidance of the Storyland of Hans Andersen Club, volunteers presented a shared reading of the story, Ghosts in the House! Through the story-telling, the children had the opportunity to act out the parts of wizards taking on ghosts in a haunted house. The children also took part in a series of mysterious games, which helped to build their confidence and unleash their creativity through solving engaging puzzles.

Ghosts in the House! is the creation of renowned author and illustrator, Kazuno Kohara, whose children's books have captivated audiences worldwide from Japan, where she grew up as a child, to the United Kingdom, where she lives today. This book was also named the 'Best Illustrated Children's Book' of 2008 by The New York Times.
