HANMI Semiconductor won a patent infringement lawsuit against GENESEM in the second trial. The Patent Court ruled that GENESEM should recognize the unauthorized use of HANMI Semiconductor's 'Vision Placement' equipment patent technology and prohibit the production and sale of such products.
The Patent Court acknowledged that GENESEM had unauthorized use of HANMI Semiconductor's 'Vision Placement' equipment patent technology. And it was ruled that the production, sales, etc. of the product should be prohibited.
Vision Placement is a semiconductor production equipment. This carries out the cleaning, drying, inspection, screening and loading process of semiconductor packages cut from wafers.
HANMI Semiconductor filed a patent technology infringement lawsuit against GENESEM in April 2018. In October last year, HANMI Semiconductor won the first trial and GENESEM appealed. It has yet to be confirmed whether GENESEM will appeal the second trial. Separately, HANMI Semiconductor is also suing for damages.
