Claims infringement of the patent technology of 'Vision Placement'
Vice Chairman Dong Shin Kwak said, 'We will respond more actively to infringement of intellectual property rights.'

HANMI Semiconductor made an announcement on the 8th that it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against GENESEM (case number: 2021가합 501155).

Dong Shin Kwak, vice chairman of HANMI Semiconductor, said, 'We have filed a patent infringement lawsuit against the unauthorized use of key patent technology of Vision Placement. We plan to respond more actively to companies that violate intellectual property rights.'

Vision Placement performs cleaning, drying, inspection, screening, and loading of semiconductor packages cut on wafers. It is an essential equipment for semiconductor production. It has been supplied to many global semiconductor companies since its first release in 1998 and has been recognized for its technological prowess.

This is the second time that HANMI Semiconductor has filed a patent infringement suit against GENESEM. The patent lawsuit filed in April 2018 was won by HANMI Semiconductor in both the first and second trials, and is currently pending in the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, HANMI Semiconductor has applied for 859 intellectual property rights, including 715 patents, and is considered to have grown into a leading semiconductor equipment company in Korea.
