HONOLULU, Oct. 12, 2021 - Hawaiian Electric crews will be replacing a utility pole along Farrington Highway in Waianae fronting the Pacific Shopping Mall starting 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, until 4 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15.

The work will close the far-right, westbound lane of Farrington Highway near Lualualei Naval Road overnight as daytime work in the area has been restricted. The highway entrance to the mall may be blocked, however motorists can still access the mall via Lualualei Naval Road.

Electronic message boards were set up earlier this week to alert motorists of the upcoming work. Arrow boards, safety signs and traffic cones will mark the impending work zone, and flagmen and special duty police will direct motorists as needed.

Motorists are urged to slow down and drive with caution when approaching and passing the work zone.
