HCL Technologies Ltd.'s second-quarter net profit rose 3.9% from a year earlier, thanks to higher revenue in various client sectors and regions.

The Indian information-technology services provider said late Thursday that net profit for the quarter ended Sept. 30 rose to 32.65 billion Indian rupees ($435.4 million) from INR31.42 billion a year earlier. That narrowly exceeded the estimate of INR32.46 billion from a FactSet poll of analysts.

Second-quarter revenue increased 11% to INR206.55 billion. Revenue from the life science and healthcare sector rose 20% on year in constant-currency terms, leading revenue growth.
