Greek flavour at the finals of the World Robot Olympiad WROTM 2021, with four of our country's teams winning distinction in one of the most important global educational robotics competitions. At this year's competition, on the theme of 'PowerBots - The future of Energy', four Greek teams placed in the top 10 in their categories, standing out among over 200 teams from 65 countries. The teams were chosen via the national competition hosted by WROHellas with COSMOTE as a strategic partner. To date, Greece has won 6 medals and 13 top-10 places in the World Robot Olympiad.

"The distinctions by the Greek delegation to the World Robot Olympiad this year are really very significant. They prove our young people's passion and devotion to robotics and a better tomorrow, filling us with pride. It wasn't an easy path for them. They had to overcome many obstacles. But they succeeded - for yet another year - in distinguishing themselves among countries that are giants in the robotics sector. Together with COSMOTE, we have succeeded in instilling in our country's children the love for robotics and STEM, so that they can hold their ground against countries with a long tradition," said Ioannis Somalakidis, the President of WRO Hellas, Greece's national organizer.

Deppie Tzimea, the OTE Group Executive Director of Corporate Communications & Sustainability stated: "Congratulations to the Greek teams on their distinctions. Amidst unprecedented challenges, they remained committed to their goal and succeeded in standing out. We are here to support young people who want to try new things and develop new skills. Through the educational robotics and STEM initiatives, we support, many young people have focused on robotics and technology, contributing to a better world for all. The future of our society is intrinsically linked to technology and innovation. By investing in the development of young people's digital skills, we are investing in Greece's progress."
