- Bloomberg Gender Equality Index: one of the most important indexes assessed by investors for socially responsible investments (SRI)

For the second year in a row, OTE is included in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI), which tracks gender equality and inclusive culture in the workplace. OTE was assessed on the basis of its policies, practices and transparency principles about gender equality issues, once again placed among 380 listed companies with a total market capitalization of USD 14 trillion, headquartered in 44 countries.

The Bloomberg Gender Equality Index is one of the most trusted indexes tracking transparency, gender equality and female empowerment in the workplace. It focuses on gender equality in five areas: Female leadership and talent pipeline; equal pay and gender pay parity; inclusive culture; sexual harassment policies; and pro-woman brand. It is also one of the most important indexes used by investors to make socially responsible investments based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria.

'The culture of equal opportunities, inclusion and respect for diversity are fundamental principles of the OTE Group, not only explicitly described in the Group's Code of Ethics, but also incorporated into our vision of a better world for all, a world without discriminations,' said Elena Papadopoulou, the OTE Group's Chief Human Resources Officer, adding that 'especially in the midst of the pandemic and the upheaval in people's personal and professional lives, we are stepping up our efforts toward greater support and inclusion, promotion of flexible work and work-life balance. Diversity strengthens innovation, and multiplicity of ideas and experiences helps bring us closer to our customers. Our goal is for OTE to maintain its position as an attractive employer. Our participation in major indexes such as the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index proves that we are moving in the right direction and, at the same time, helps us continuously improve our policies and practices.'

In addition to the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, OTE participates in five other international sustainable development indexes - FTSE4Good, VIGEO-EIRIS Best Emerging Market Performers, 'Prime' Corporate ESG Performance by ISS-ESG, MSCI ESG Research, CDP on Climate issues - and is assessed by socially responsible investment organizations, continuously improving its ranking, as shown in the OTE Group Sustainable Development Report 2019.
