Release date- 26012021 - Brussels - Solvay has been acknowledged by Henkel for its contribution to Innovation and Sustainability in the home care field with two awards, runner-up in the 2020 Innovation Contributor category and runner-up in Sustainability during the 2021 American Cleaning Institute (ACI) annual convention held virtually this year.

The Innovation Contributor Award recognizes new ActizoneTM, a patented technology that delivers 24-hour antimicrobial protection to give consumers peace of mind and confidence in knowing the hard surfaces in their homes are clean and safe. The Award also lauds Solvay's ActizoneTM team for its agile support along the product development journey from registration to rollout.

Solvay is also a proud winner in the Sustainability category for Rhodasurf 6 NAT, a natural-based nonionic surfactant that allows detergents to be designated as a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Safer Choice and U.S. Department of Agriculture-certified with a 99% bio-based clean claim.

'Rhodasurf 6 NAT is an alternative to synthetic surfactants. It is produced without petrochemicals and uses renewable carbon throughout ingredient development,' explained Galder Cristobal, Home & Personal Care Research and Innovation Director at Solvay. 'The Life Cycle Analysis for this bio-based surfactant for home care shows how we can save up to 30% in non-renewable carbon resources and up to 20% in carbon dioxide emissions.'
