Swedish businesswoman Helena Saxon is set to join H&M's board of directors following the group's next general meeting, scheduled for May 3.

Aged 53, Helena Saxon began her career as a financial analyst in London at Goldman Sachs before joining Swedish investment company Investor AB, where she became CFO in 2015.

If her appointment is approved by the Group's shareholders, she will replace Niklas Zennström, who has decided not to seek re-election in order to focus on his own businesses and foundations.

The re-election of the other six directors currently making up the Board of Directors will be put to shareholders, as will that of Chairman Karl-Johan Persson.
