Herfy Food Services Company reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported net profit was SAR 43,399,454 against SAR 49,483,796 a year ago. Operational profit was SAR 46,716,276 against SAR 51,708,206 a year ago. The decrease of net profit for the second quarter of 2017 compared to the same quarter last year 2016 is mainly due to the decrease in sales by 2% (as the full month of Ramdan has been in the second quarter of 2017) and the increase of the selling and marketing expenses, finance cost and the decrease in net other income for the second quarter 2017 compared to the same quarter last year 2016. Total sales amounted to SAR 272.1 million, compared to SAR 277.7 million for the corresponding quarter of the previous year, with a decrease of 2%. For the six months, the company reported net profit was SAR 96,117,122 against SAR 102,835,228 a year ago. Operational profit was SAR 102,994,636 against SAR 107,669,866 a year ago. Earnings per share were SAR 1.49 against SAR 1.59 a year ago. The decrease of the net profit for the six months of 2017 compared to the same period last year 2016 is mainly due to the decrease in sales of the six months of 2017 with by 2.5% (as the full month of Ramdan has been in the six months of 2017), and the increase of the selling and marketing expenses finance cost and net other Income for the six months of 2017 compared to the same period last year 2016. Total sales amounted to SAR 547.1 million, compared to SAR 561.3 million for the same period of the last year 2016, with a decrease of 2.5%.
