Hikal Limited announced unaudited standalone earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of INR 2,323.1 million compared with INR 2,039.8 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from operation before other income, finance cost and exceptional items was INR 298.9 million compared with INR 225.7 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 191.5 million compared with INR 56.6 million for the same period a year ago. Net profit was INR 152.4 million or INR 1.85 per basic and diluted share compared with INR 48.2 million or INR 0.59 per basic and diluted share for the same period a year ago.
For the six months, the company reported net sales of INR 4,535.4 million compared with INR 3,954.6 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from operation before other income, finance cost and exceptional items was INR 565.9 million compared with INR 425.4 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 331.8 million compared with INR 83.4 million for the same period a year ago. Net profit was INR 261.9 million or INR 3.19 per basic and diluted share compared with INR 66.5 million or INR 0.81 per basic and diluted share for the same period a year ago.
