Hoa Phat JSC : participates in the Conference and Exhibition of ASEAN steel industry 2016

On May 30, 2016 at the JW Marriot Hotel, Hanoi took place the opening ceremony of the International Conference and Exhibition of ASEAN steel industry 2016. The event hosted by Vietnam Steel Association in collaboration with the Council of the Association of Southeast Asian Steel (AISC) and South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute (SEAISI) organization.

Attending the meeting were hundreds of delegates who are leaders of steel associations, enterprises, the scientists from the Institute, managers etc … of the ASEAN and other countries. Mr. Ho Nghia Dung - Chairman of the Vietnam Steel Association - said that, besides the development of the steel industry in Southeast Asia, as well as the region, the industry is facing challenges, including competition of imported steel from certain countries at very low prices. Accordingly, the theme of 'Innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of ASEAN steel industry' of this conference is very relevant and timely. Many participants also expressed their concern about very low imported steel of China into ASEAN countries increasingly and stressed the need for the application of trade defense measures to protect the production of member businesses in the region.

With this exhibition, there are 62 booths and two galleries, in the presence of equipment multi-vendor and largest steel producer in the world, such as ABB AB Metallurgy, Danieli, Primetals Technologies, Technova … In particular, Vietnam has 8 booths with the participation of the country's largest steel producers, including Hoa Phat Group, VNSteel, … At the exhibition, each firm introduces their strengths, advantages of their technology that it now owns, increasing commercial cooperation between Vietnam and the countries participating in the conference.

Before the Conference, many other sideline activities were organized, such as continuous casting technology seminar in May 29. And, the exhibition presents the achievements of ASEAN metallurgy, organize to visit the steel plants in Vietnam from May 30 - June 2, 2016.

In the program framework, delegation of more than 50 participants who are the managers, business leaders, experts in the Southeast Asia and the world steel industry will have a working visit to the Hoa Phat iron and steel complex in Hai Duong province on June 2, 2016.
