CIMIC'S LEIGHTON ASIA AND BROAD CONSTRUCTION

SECURE $100M IN PROJECT WINS

CIMIC Group's construction companies, Leighton Asia, and wholly owned subsidiary of CPB Contractors, Broad Construction (Broad), have further extended their presence in Singapore and Western Australia respectively with the award of contracts totalling approximately $100 million in revenue.

The projects are:

  • a contract awarded by Singapore's Land Transportation Authority to Leighton Asia, in joint venture with Bintai Kindenko Pte Ltd, to replace the electrical services and systems for the existing Central Expressway and Fort Canning Road Tunnels.
  • a contract awarded by the West Australian Government to Broad to deliver the expansion of the Casuarina maximum security prison, located to the south of Perth. The work includes the construction of a high security unit, two mainstream accommodation units, as well as support and industries buildings.

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Juan Santamaria said: "Supporting essential infrastructure - be it expressways or correctional facilities - is a core capability for CIMIC. Our experience in delivering infrastructure will support safe, reliable outcomes for our clients and engage local workers and businesses to increase work opportunities and other community benefits."

Leighton Asia Managing Director Pedro Vicente said: "We are pleased to secure another contract with our client, the Land Transportation Authority. The award of this contract demonstrates Leighton Asia's diverse engineering capabilities and ability to leverage CIMIC Group's experience to grow our business in the M&E sector."

CPB Contractors Managing Director Jason Spears said: "Broad has industry leading experience in delivering essential community facilities like schools, hospitals and prisons. Our team will work closely with the Department of Justice, and particularly WA Corrective Services, to ensure that this important project is delivered safely while also maximising local employment opportunities."

The works in Singapore commenced this month and will be completed in Q3 2024. The works in Western Australia have commenced and are scheduled to be completed in 2022.
