29 NOVEMBER 2022 CIMIC'S CPB CONTRACTORS SELECTED FOR SYDNEY METRO WEST - EASTERN TUNNELLING PACKAGE

CIMIC Group's construction company CPB Contractors, in joint venture with John Holland and Ghella, has been selected by Sydney Metro to deliver the Sydney Metro West - Eastern Tunnelling Package.

CPB Contractors is a 40 per cent joint venture partner delivering the $1.63 billion project.

Sydney Metro West will deliver a new underground rail connection between the CBDs of Parramatta and Sydney. Works to be delivered under the Eastern Tunnelling Package include 3.5 kilometres of metro tunnels between future stations at The Bays and Hunter Street in Sydney's CBD and the excavation of caverns and shafts at Pyrmont and Hunter Street Stations.

CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria said: "CIMIC is pleased to have the opportunity to support social connectivity, economic growth and new opportunities in Western Sydney through the delivery of this city-shaping transport spine."

CPB Contractors portfolio of major Sydney tunnelling projects includes the M6 (with CIMIC Group company UGL), WestConnex M4 East, M8 and Rozelle Interchange, and the Station Boxes and Tunnelling Works for the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport project.

Construction will commence in 2023 and is scheduled for completion in 2025.
