Hokuriku Gas Co., Ltd. (TSE:9537) concluded a basic agreement to acquire gas business from Kashiwazaki City for ¥6.1 billion on December 21, 2016. A provisional agreement on the business transfer was concluded on February 28, 2017. Hokuriku Gas Co., Ltd. concluded a business transfer contract to acquire gas business from Kashiwazaki City on March 23, 2017. The transaction is subject to approval of the business transfer by the Director of the Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry and is expected to close on April 1, 2017.

HOKURIKU GAS CO., LTD. is a Japan-based gas provider. It has two business segments. The City Gas segment is involved in the manufacture, supply and sale of city gas, the operation of gas works, as well as the sale of gas equipment. The Others segment is involved in the sale of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and LPG equipment, the operation of LPG piping works, gas works and civil engineering works, the design, installation, maintenance, security and inspection of gas equipment, the sale, installation and meter reading of housing facilities and equipment, the leasing and management of buildings, the leasing of business equipment and vehicles, as well as the brokerage of real estate properties.
