Hong Kong Futures Exchange Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd., has entered into an agreement with MSCI Ltd. to launch futures and options.

The unit will initially launch 37 futures and options contracts based on MSCI's equity indexes in Asia and Emerging Markets, Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing said Wednesday.

The Asia and Emerging Markets indexes include the MSCI Emerging Markets Asia, MSCI China Free, MSCI Japan, MSCI Taiwan, MSCI Singapore and MSCI India, it said.

The futures and options contracts are subject to regulatory approvals and market conditions, it said.

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing said it would inform the market of the launch dates of these futures and options contracts once they have been finalized.
