Hope, Inc. reported consolidated and non-consolidated earnings results for the year ended June 30, 2021. For the year, consolidated basis, the company reported net sales of JPY 34,615 million. Operating loss was JPY 6,895 million. Loss attributable to owners of parent was JPY 6,978 million. Basic loss per share were JPY 1,109.09.
For the year, non-consolidated basis, the company reported net sales of JPY 34,615 million compared to JPY 14,407 million a year ago. Operating loss was JPY 6,892 million compared to profit of JPY 1,020 million a year ago. Loss was JPY 6,967 million compared to profit of JPY 665 million a year ago. Basic loss per share were JPY 1,107.25 compared to earnings of JPY 117.97 a year ago.
Hope Inc is a Japan-based company engaged in advertising, energy and media businesses. The Company operates through three business segments. Energy segment offers GENEWAT, an electricity retail service that helps local governments reduce costs. Advertising segment offers two kinds of services. The smart resource (SR) service purchases advertising space in various media such as homepages owned by local governments, public relations papers, salary statements distributed to public employees, and envelopes and sells them to private companies. The smart creation (SC) service, in the form of collaborative issuance with local governments, recruits advertisers to produce information booklets for residents and donates the booklets to local governments. Media segment utilizes the relationships with local governments cultivated in the advertising business to provide business to government (BtoG) marketing services, Jichitai Works, and Jichitai Works HA x SH information distribution platform.
