During Host's General Managers meeting at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in March 2020, Host connected with the local community and helped raise awareness about how the hotel industry can prevent human trafficking by welcoming a special guest from the Phoenix Dream Center. Through their community-based outreach services, the Phoenix Dream Center helps human trafficking victims by providing outreach, safe housing and specialized programming including therapeutic healing centers, education services and more. With financial support, they have been able to help 700 young survivors over the last ten years.

To support the recovery and rehabilitation of the victims and their families, Host donated $11,340 to the Phoenix Dream Center, which will help recover 30 girls from human trafficking. The funds will provide recovery costs to help a young girl get out of her human trafficking trauma and into the recovery program-including transportation, the emergency phone that law enforcement calls when they do a recovery, as well as additional security coverage while the girl is in transition.

'It's so amazing to see a company that has a vested interest in what we do and supports our efforts to raise awareness about human trafficking. You have no idea what that level of commitment means to the young men and women and babies we have in our Human Trafficking Program who are working to rebuild their lives,' said Konstance Merideth, Chief Programs Officer at the Phoenix Dream Center. 'Right now, we have a young woman in our Program who came in pregnant by her trafficker. Host's generous gift is helping her receive medical care for her and her child, educational support for her to continue her education, specialized counseling, therapy, legal services, and food and housing. I've watched her completely transform since she's been here, and I know that when she graduates our Program, she and her child will be on a steady path towards self-sufficiency and success. Thank you from all of us here at the Phoenix Dream Center... Host is truly helping to make a difference, one life at a time.'
