With a rating of A− (A minus), the non-profit organisation CDP has placed HUBER+SUHNER in the highest of four evaluation categories 'Leadership'. In the electrical and electronic equipment sector, 26% of participating companies were assigned to the 'Leadership' category. The 'Leadership' category (A/A−) refers to companies that, in the opinion of CDP, are implementing current best practices to reduce their CO2 emissions. The assessment of CDP is based on data for the calendar year 2019.

CDP has structured its questionnaire for data collection into eleven evaluation categories. HUBER+SUHNER was awarded an A in three categories: 'Emissions reduction initiatives', 'Scope 3 emissions' (these are CO2 emissions caused mainly by raw material extraction and production, transportation of goods and business travel) and 'Targets'. CDP gives a total of eight ratings from A to D−. The regional rating average in Europe is C, as is the rating average for the electrical and electronic equipment sector.

'I am pleased and proud of this very good result,' said Urs Ryffel, CEO of HUBER+SUHNER. 'It rewards us for our systematic efforts to reduce our Group's greenhouse gas emissions year after year and thus make a contribution in the ongoing fight against climate change.'

The non-profit organization CDP (formerly: Carbon Disclosure Project), headquartered in Berlin, Germany, operates a global disclosure system for companies, cities, states and regions. The disclosure system is regarded in financial circles as the best and most comprehensive source of environment-related corporate data. 515 institutional investors worldwide with assets of 106 trillion US dollars have access to and evaluate this data. More than 9,600 companies have disclosed environmental data on the CDP platform in 2020.
