Hyon : Otto Søberg and Silje Smådal join HYON’s Board of Directors

HYON strengthens its Board of Directors with the appointment of Otto Søberg as Chairman and Silje Smådal as Board Member at the 2022 Annual General Meeting.

With 35+ years' experience in maritime sector, renewables and oil & gas, Otto Søberg takes on the role as Chairman of the Board of HYON. Søberg has held various leadership positions in companies including Eksportkreditt, Kværner, Aker Yards, Siemens, Agility Group and Wood Group. He also brings with him extensive board experience from both Norwegian and international companies, e.g., as Chairperson of the Nomination Committee at Yara International.

"I'm excited to be part of HYON's journey ahead! The market is developing at an incredible pace and HYON plays an important role in bringing hydrogen to the maritime sector and enabling the energy transition.", says Søberg.

In addition to Søberg and the existing members Bjørn Simonsen and Jens Berge, Silje Smådal also enters the Board.

Smådal has 10+ years' experience from the maritime sector, specifically related to shipyards and fisheries. She is the Sales Manager at the ship technology company Havyard Leirvik, with a main focus on sales, contract negotiations and project calculations. Smådal also has experience from various board positions.
