IHH Healthcare Bhd. said it will cap carbon emissions from 2025 and plans to achieve net zero by 2050 as it continues to grow its business.

IHH aims to reduce the carbon footprint per patient while growing patient volumes and to complete carbon baselining for all operations in 2022, the Malaysia healthcare conglomerate said Tuesday.

Assuming 20% patient volume growth from 2022 to 2025, IHH will reduce carbon output per patient by about 20% correspondingly, thereby capping carbon emissions at its 2022 baseline, the company said.

IHH said it will report its progress in its annual sustainability report beginning 2023.
