HONG KONG - Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) has been notified by Niigata Transys Co. Ltd., a contractor of the automated people mover system extension project, that one of their staff has been preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. The staff last reported duty on 1 December. All relevant site works have been suspended. The office, work site and restaurant that the staff had visited have been cleaned and sanitised.

Niigata Transys Co. Ltd has arranged their staff members who had been in contact with the concerned staff to undergo COVID-19 test and wait for results at home.

Separately, the AA was informed by Three-runway System contractor ZHEC-CCCC-CDC Joint Venture that a family member of a staff employed by one of its subcontractors had been tested positive for COVID-19. The staff will undergo the COVID-19 test arranged by the Government. ZHEC-CCCC-CDC Joint Venture and its subcontractor are arranging other staff members who had been in contact with the concerned staff to undergo COVID-19 test and wait for results at home. The relevant work areas have been cleaned and disinfected.

The AA has stringent guidelines for airport service providers and contractors to ensure the public health safety of airport staff and passengers.
