Free extends its presence on the SIVU (Dunkirk Urban Community)

Public Initiative Network

Free has strengthened its presence in the Dunkirk Urban Community by extending its footprint on the SIVU Public Initiative Network ("PIN") operated by the fiber infrastructure company, Covage.

This move further demonstrates Free's commitment to the rollout of fiber throughout France in line with its aim of having a presence on the Public Initiative Networks deployed by local communities.

Free is now present in the whole of the area currently covered by the SIVU public network, with all 26,000 homes concerned eligible for Free Fiber.

Marketing of fiber offers started on the network several weeks ago and now covers all of the 26,000 homes located in the four municipalities of the Dunkirk Urban Community: Coudekerque-Branche, Saint-Pol-sur-Mer, Cappelle-la-Grande and Fort-Mardyck. In all, 90,000 homes located in the Dunkirk conurbation are eligible for Free Fiber.

Free's Fiber offerings are already available to over one million homes located in the Nord region of France thanks to its presence on PINs, as well as in AMII areas and in very densely populated areas in the municipalities of Lille, Valenciennes, Douai and Cambrai.

Free's extended presence on the SIVU network further illustrates its objectives of offering fiber services throughout France and being able to propose a fiber plan to French consumers through the Freebox Pop (29.99/month for 12 months and then39.99/month).

Additionally, Free is the only operator in France to offer 10G-EPON fiber technology1 (subject to the subscriber having a compatible plan and Freebox).

As from today, people living in the Dunkirk Urban Community can check their eligibility and subscribe for Free Fiber atwww.free.fr, on 1033 (a freephone number dedicated to Free Fiber), or in the Free Center in Dunkirk.
