(Alliance News) - European stock markets moved without a single direction Wednesday, weighed down anyway by selling in global markets, while Treasury yields rose on growing fears that China's reopening could add inflationary pressures to the global economy because of the boost it could exert on the demand side.

Investors also continue to assess growing risks of a global recession next year, with major central banks expected to further tighten monetary policy.

Thus, the FTSE Mib trades down 0.2 percent at 23,817.29.

London's FTSE 100 is in the green by 0.9 percent, Paris' CAC 40 is just above par, and Frankfurt's DAX 40 is giving up 0.1 percent.

Among the smaller lists, the Mid-Cap is giving up 0.4 percent to 39,419.72, the Small-Cap is in the red 0.4 percent to 27,611.79, and Italy Growth is in the black 0.1 percent to 9,213.17.

On the main list, Saipem gives up 1.0%, ending its four-session bullish run.

CNH Industrial, meanwhile, gives up 0.9%, after two sessions ended in the green.

Banca BPER, on the other hand, gives up 0.7%, heading-if confirmed at the close-for its fourth bearish session.

In the small group of bullish performers is Inwit, which rises well with 1.0% turning upward after the three-session bearish mini-trend.

In the cadet segment, good buys on Antares, which rises well with 1.3% after a 2.2% gain on the eve.

Juventus FC loses ground, posting a minus 1.4 percent. It should be noted that the Turin-based company announced Tuesday that the shareholders' meeting approved the financial statements for the year to June 30, 2022, which closed with a loss for the year of EUR238.1 million compared to a loss of EUR226.4 million in fiscal year 2020-21.

At the tail end, GVS, on the other hand, gives up 3.9 percent, settling at EUR4.20 and the subject of profit taking after two sessions in which it accumulated a green of more than 20 percent.

On the SmallCap, Ratti steps back 3.6 percent, while Trevi Finanziaria, which gives up 3.7 percent, closes the list.

Bastogi, on the other hand, shows itself as the best performer, rising 4.8 percent and pointing to its third session in a positive direction.

Among SMEs, boost on Impianti, which rises 7.4 percent to EUR1.62, while Iniziative Bresciane climbs 4.6 percent.

Illa, on the other hand, goes down more than 16%, with price at EUR0.0025. It should be noted that the annual volatility marks a value of 156.

Among Asian exchanges, the Nikkei closed down 0.4 percent, the Hang Seng is climbing 1.4 percent, and the Shanghai Composite closed in the red 0.3 percent.

In New York, the Dow closed up 0.1 percent, the Nasdaq gave up 1.4 percent and the S&P 500 fell 0.4 percent.

Among currencies, the euro changed hands at USD1.0640 against USD1.0651 at Tuesday's close. In contrast, the pound is worth USD1.2034 from USD1.2022 on Tuesday evening.

Among commodities, Brent crude is worth USD83.42 per barrel from USD85.84 per barrel Tuesday evening. Gold, on the other hand, trades at USD1,803.90 an ounce from USD1,827.65 an ounce Tuesday night.

On Wednesday's economic calendar, overseas, at 1300 CET, it's time for data on U.S. 30-year mortgages, mortgage applications and the mortgage refinance index. Also in the United States, at 1600 CET, the pending home sales index and pending home sales contracts will be released.

Among companies listed in the United States, no particular announcements are expected.
