Imaflex Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2017. For the quarter, the company announced revenue was CAD 22,056,000 compared to CAD 19,378,000 for the same period a year ago. Profit was CAD 1,145,000 or CAD 0.023 per basic and diluted share compared to loss of CAD 172,000 or CAD 0.003 per basic and diluted share for the same period a year ago. EBITDA (excluding FX) was CAD 2,411,000 compared to CAD 1,080,000 for the same period a year ago. EBITDA was CAD 2,319,000 compared to CAD 602,000 for the same period a year ago. Increase in revenue was driven by higher sales volumes and product mix for both the core flexible packaging and agriculture business. Profitability improved significantly year-over-year, driven by sales volume growth, improved product mix and ongoing cost controls. As a result of changes in working capital, the company had cash outflows from operating activities of CAD 0.2 million for the first quarter 2017, versus cash inflows of CAD 1.4 million in the corresponding prior-year period. Excluding net changes in working capital, the company generated CAD 2.5 million of cash from operating activities, up from CAD 1.4 million in the first quarter of 2016.
