IMC: Operating Results in 2016

In 2016 the IMC harvested 717 ths tonnes of grain and oilseeds (+12% compared to 2015) and 21 ths tonnes of potato (+ 31% compared to 2015).

Improvement of cultivation technology, along with favorable weather conditions have led to significant yields growth of almost all crops:

• Corn - gross yield of 9,1t/ha (+ 24% vs. 2015)

• Soybean - gross yield of 3.4 t/ha (+ 31% vs. 2015)

• Sunflower - gross yield of 3.2 t/ha (+ 12% vs. 2015)

• Wheat - gross yield of 4.8 t/ha (-5% vs. 2015)

• Potato - gross yield of 40.4 t/ha (+ 38% vs. 2015)

The yield of corn and soybean, achieved in 2016, is a record high for the 10-year history of the IMC.

The company's sales in the crop farming segment in 2016 amounted to 691 thousand tonnes (-9% vs. 2015), including about 502 thousand tonnes of corn (-17% vs. 2015). The decline in sales in the crop farming segment was due to lower carry-over stocks of corn at the beginning of 2016.

80% of sales in the crop farming segment (about 556 ths. tonnes) was exported.

Milk production at the IMC's dairy farms amounted to 15 ths. tonnes in 2016 (-22% compared to 2015). The decrease in milk production volumes was associated with the implementation of the project on optimization of the cattle herd. As a result of the project, the average milk yield in the IMC increased by 2% compared with 2015, to 5.6 tonnes per forage cow.
